Smoked paprika is native to Spain. Traditionally, it is made from the pimenton de la Vera. Smoked paprika, available both hot and sweet, has become very popular and adds a distinct deep smoky flavour to many dishes. It is a great substitute for bacon in pea soup and also makes an amazing dip with mayonnaise. It adds a distinct flavour to chili and other soups and stews.
