Pizza Party!

Pizza Party!

We love any reason to get together with friends & family over food.  And what is universally well-loved for a party? Pizza!

With Summer now here, it's time to plan an outdoor Pizza Party, and Cookery has all you need to prep, serve & enjoy this crowd-pleasing, family favourite.

This week, we're sharing 2 pizza dough recipes - an 'easy one' you can make same day, and one using a sourdough starter you may have available at home.

The first is 'Roberta's Pizza Dough' from NYT Cooking. This 5-star recipe, tested by our own Chef Jess, is quick to make with the help of a kitchen scale, and can be made ahead.

The second is Cookery Founder Alison's go-to recipe using the sourdough starter she keeps at the ready.  It's Alexandra Stafford's Simple Sourdough Pizza Crust.  This method requires a bit more time for the 'stretch & folding' before the overnight ferment, but it produces a very flavourful dough with incredible rise and bubbling during baking. Plan a few days ahead and try this one, the results are amazing!

No time to make dough from scratch? Grab some pre-made dough from the grocery store or your local bakery. We won't tell. :)

Regardless of your dough, we always recommend a pizza stone to achieve a beautifully-baked crust. We have 2 brand new ones in-store from Old Stone Kitchen - a traditional stone version and a steel one. Both are high-heat temperature resistant and can be used in your oven, pizza oven or on the grill for that wood-fired feel.

So send out the invites, stop by a Cookery or hop online to check out all our pizza making tools & accessories, and plan a Pizza Party for this Summer.

Don't forget to have a peek at our Outdoor Living Collection for all the non-breakable dinnerware, serveware & glassware you need for party-throwing success.
