Tools for the Perfect Picnic
Beating the heat.
This time of year, I love a recipe that requires little time in front of the stove. Something refreshing that can be enjoyed outdoors with a glass of wine or some sparkling water with lime. That's why I love this week's recipe so much. It requires little of either and makes the most of seasonal produce like canteloupe and watermelon.
From the new cook book The Cook You Want To Be by Andy Baraghani, Fresh Fruit with Savory Sprinkles is the ideal picnic fare. It can be easily assembled or prepared on-site at your picnic spot with The Opinel Nomad Cooking Kit. More of a 'picnic' kit, it contains a cutting board, a folding knife with a serrated 12-cm blade ideal for cutting bread, a folding paring knife for cheese, meats, fruits and veggies, a folding peeler and a 'hidden' corkscrew.
If wine and cheese is more your picnic style, pack them up in the Brava Insulated Wine & Cheese Picnic Tote. Complete with corkscrew, cheese board, wine glasses and even cloth napkins, you'll be eating and drinking in fine form. Pop in the Zyliss Stainless Steel paring knife complete with its own safety cover and you've got the beginnings of a great meal al fresco.
Picnic in the backyard? The Maison Berger Summer Night Lamp & Fragrance kit, when assembled and lit, fills the air with citrusy freshness that helps repel mosquitoes, flies, and ants. The Summer Night fragrance bottles are also available separately in 500ml and 1L refills to use with your existing Maison Berger Lamp.
It's the perfect time, let's plan a picnic and beat the kitchen heat!
Keeping cool,
