Come join Chef Anne Hynes in another celebration of the bright flavours of Japanese Izakaya. From savoury bites to unforgettable textures and tastes, Chef Anne will guide you on a delicious journey through Japan’s beloved pub-style dining culture. Tonight, we create an array of small plates beginning with the classic izakaya staple; Edamame with Togarashi; Kakiage (vegetable fritters) with Spiced Salt; Tofu Dengaku with Sesame, Caramelized Miso; Sunomono (cucumber pickles); Yakionigiri with Umeboshi, Miso Honey Butter (grilled rice balls stuffed with savoury umeboshi); Salmon Tataki with rice, Greens, Karashi Sumiso dressing (Japanese mustard miso dressing); and a fluffy Japanese Cheesecake with Summer Berries to end our exciting feast.

Wine is included in the price of class.  Wine pairings, a red and a white option are provided by our resident wine expert, Amy McIntyre. With advanced notice we are also happy to provide non-alcoholic craft wine for your enjoyment.

If you have food sensitivities or dietary restrictions please check with your local Cookery location, before registration. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class.

Cookery maintains an optional masking policy, you are not required to wear one during the class, however if you feel more comfortable with one please bring one.
