El Topo Cocktail

Yield: 1 drink

Ingredients


2 oz Reposado tequila

3/4 oz lime juice

1/2 oz+ simple syrup

1/8 oz Jugo del Diablo (recipe follows)

1 cucumber slice, halved, to muddle

1 strawberry, halved, to muddle

1/2 oz Mezcal, to float


Double Old-Fashioned Glass

Ice Chunk

Slice of cucumber and strawberry for garnish


Directions

  1. Place chunk of ice in double old-fashioned glass. Add Jugo del Diablo to cocktail shaker along with cucumber and strawberry and muddle.

  2. Add the simple syrup, lime, tequila and 5 ice cubes. Shake vigorously. Taste and add more simple syrup to your liking.

  3. Double strain into the glass over the ice chunk. Float the Mezcal on top of the drink and garnish.


Jugo del Diablo

Yield: 1/2 cup

Ingredients


1/4 cup Sriracha

1/4 cup Cholula hot sauce (or other Mexican hot sauce, not too vinegary like Tabasco)

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce


Directions: Combine Sriracha and Cholula together in small bowl. Add Worcestershire sauce and stir.
