Cuisipro Silicone Locking Tongs 9.5" Red

Cuisipro tongs are excellent quality, with firm, non-stick-friendly gripping ends for secure food management! You have to use both hands to lock/unlock but it's worth it for the control you enjoy.
I recommend going for the larger size though - the smaller versions are a bit more precious about staying closed, and they don't open as wide. The pot/pan compatibility advantage of the smaller tong profile is limited, IMO.

The hinge and spring mechanism leave a lot to be desired. The locking system is one of those pull from the bottom tabs rather than having a small metal rectangle that slides up and down the handle to close the tongs, this means you generally need two hands to close and lock them rather than 1 hand with the metal rectangle. The tongs also don’t fully open all the way to their full range of motion on their own, you have to pull them lightly apart to get open all the way, which is a glaring fault of the spring mechanism in the hinge. From the day I bought this I wish I hadn’t.

Excellent tongs, feel very sturdy and have a fairly intuitive locking mechanism. A good complement to my cooking accessories.
